Job Purpose

The Technologist, Battery and Electrical builds the modules of the Karno Genset System which include working with high/low voltage DC/AC. They also install and maintain electric components after assembly. Reports to the Sr. Operations Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assemble battery modules to be used for prototypes and production.
• Conduct and record end of line validation and quality procedures.
• Develop assembly procedures and manufacturing work instructions.
• Program laser welder equipment.
• Build and install battery wiring harnesses, busses and boards.
• Support the building of tests stands to perform functional and durability testing.
• Setting-up of test equipment and commissioning.
• Support in-house and outsourced battery testing activities, running tests and recording data.
• Support hardware procurement efforts.
• Support battery system installation.
• Support system diagnostics.

Qualifications include:

• Education, Experience and Certifications
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in electrical and mechanical systems for prototyping and/or production.
• Experience in high voltage safety systems
• Experience in system electrification and testing methodologies.
• Experience in battery technology, associated chemistries and testing methodologies.
• Experience in electrical and wiring systems.
• Design experience preferred.
• Skills and Abilities
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
• Strong understanding of electro-mechanical systems, their sub-systems, and application requirements.
• Strong follow-through and self-starting nature.

Role Classification and Working Conditions

This is a salaried, exempt -level position. This position typically works in an office environment; and given the nature of our business is also exposed to operations/warehouses/production environments.

Physical/Other Requirements

• Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to travel, as needed, by plane, automobile, etc.
