Job Description

You write comprehensive test plans for manual and automated testing and work together with your fellow QA engineers to get the automated tests implemented.

From the start, you’re involved in testing Gorilla. Working closely with our project manager and engineers, you challenge user stories, conduct risk analyses, and create automated test cases based on the product and client requirements. During development, you work together with the product and client delivery team to get all tests passed. You document and report issues and perform acceptance testing. In the end, you concisely visualize the product’s health in a test report for the entire product team.

Apart from performing the test workflow, you also see the bigger picture. You make sure the importance of quality control and test-driven development seeps into the mind and workflow of every engineer you collaborate with. You write comprehensive test plans for manual and automated testing and work together with our engineers to get the automated tests implemented. You always nudge your colleagues toward the best practices in security and performance test setup and implementation.

Day to day

  • Define the testing scope/plan, execute test cases, and report on test coverage for each sprint
  • Identify and communicate risks that could impact product quality
  • Document defects with clear steps to reproduce, expected outcomes, actual outcomes, and any relevant screenshots, videos, or logs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, architects, designers, and developers to understand requirements, review acceptance criteria, and provide feedback
  • Promote good QA practices and foster a quality mindset within the development team
  • Perform peer reviews on manual and automated test cases

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Automation Tester in an Agile environment.
  • Strong understanding of all different layers in web-based applications and experience testing frontend, API, and database.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing automated testing frameworks using tools like Cypress (+), Playwright, WebDriverIO, Appium, J-Meter...
  • You flourish in an agile environment and have a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle.
  • Eager to continuously learn, stay up-to-date with best practices in QA, and become an expert in a product.
  • Collaborate with the QA, development, and definition teams to align on test (automation) objectives, goals, progress, and findings
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (English).
  • Take ownership over designing and executing the automation approach and strategy, and contribute to the existing automation framework.
  • You believe test automation is the best way to go for robust quality assessment, but you know it can't cover everything. You're naturally curious and creative when trying to find loopholes in implemented features or solutions.
