And with our machine learning algorithms and frequent software updates, the forklifts become more capable over time. As the leader in this space, Fox has clear product market fit and is scaling fast, with plans to nearly double from ~90 employees in the next year.

The Cloud Services team is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to work on the tools that our customers use to interact with the robots, as well as data visualization and analysis web apps used internally to monitor the performance of our fleet. While we’re primarily looking for an engineer with strong frontend experience, the team is also responsible for backend web services and data pipelines running in the cloud, and you’ll be expected to learn and contribute to the backend portions of the code base as well.

What you’ll do:

• Upgrade the design and functionality of the app our customers use to operate our robots to support new features like trailer loading and remote task assignment
• Design and implement 3D visualizations of log data collected from the robots to help autonomy engineers understand and improve performance
• Build a web portal that allows customers to monitor their fleet’s performance and configure details of the robots’ operating environment
• Contribute to the entire software development lifecycle, from design through deployment
• Collaborate closely with our product designer and stakeholders to ensure the features you implement deliver maximum value
• Help less experienced engineers grow their skills through coaching, code reviews, and pair programming
• Participate in sprint activities, from writing stories for prioritization through suggesting improvements in retrospectives

What you’ll need:

• More than 5 years of industry experience developing web or mobile apps in TypeScript and React
• Experience with REST APIs, MQTT (or PubSub in general), and 3D graphics
• Strong technical and non-technical communication skills for collaborating effectively with remote employees as well as those in the office
• A passion for sustainable development practices and leaving code in a better state than you found it

Nice to haves:

• Familiarity with Python, MongoDB, OAuth, or Android app development
• Creating data visualizations with three.js
• Experience with robotics or IoT environments
