POSITION OVERVIEW :

The Process Chemistry Lab Intern will have the opportunity to learn about inorganic material synthesis, materials analysis, and cement chemistry.

The Process Chemistry Lab Intern will assist with laboratory efforts to run our lab scale production process. The role will include performing processes such as: solution preparation, oven/furnace operation, mineral dissolution, gas absorption, precipitation, solids dewatering, and drying.

This position will be part of the Process team within the R&D department.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Assist with daily production and characterization of precipitated and powdered products
  • Assist and sometimes lead daily operation of laboratory test and analytical equipment
  • Inventory consumables and chemicals
  • Maintain laboratory cleanliness
  • Conduct safety inspections

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

  • 3+ years of study in Chemistry or a related field
  • Eagerness to learn
  • Willingness to work in a team
  • A “can-do” attitude

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of study in Chemistry or related field
  • 3+ months of experience in a chemical lab setting
  • Experience in preparing and handling of inorganic salt solutions
  • Familiarity with analytical techniques including: XRD, PSA, SEM, BET, pH measurement, and/or titration

COMPENSATION :

The hourly range for this internship is $25.00 - $30.00.
