As the lead data platform engineer on the team, you will play a critical part in establishing data engineering patterns, deploying and maintaining data infrastructure, and building relationships with partner teams. This is a unique opportunity to leverage and expand your data engineering and infrastructure experience to make a direct impact on climate change as part of a mission-driven team!

What you'll do:

  • Partner with other teams across the company to identify opportunities to automate workflows, gather requirements, design robust solutions, and execute
  • Advise on data and software engineering best practices used across the company
  • Monitor and optimize use of third party SaaS applications and identify opportunities to in-source services

What you'll bring:

  • 10+ years of professional experience as a data engineer, platform engineer, site reliability engineer, or other software professional
  • Strong command of python and SQL, with extensive experience working in cloud data platforms like Snowflake and Databricks
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Pulumi or Terraform
  • Experience working with streaming platforms like Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis, and Spark Streaming
  • Experience working with container orchestration tools, ideally AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) or Elastic Container Service (ECS)
  • Curiosity, creativity, and tenacity when it comes to problem solving
