Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Welding Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will have a strong background in resistance, ultrasonic, and/or laser welding, coupled with extensive experience in production and manufacturing environments. You will be responsible for troubleshooting welding issues, developing robust welding processes, and ensuring the highest quality standards in our manufacturing operations.

This opportunity is based out of Form Energy's Eighty Four, PA facility. Relocation assistance is available.

What you'll do:

  • Welding Process Development:
  • Lead the development and optimization of welding processes, focusing on resistance, ultrasonic, and laser welding techniques.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate welding processes into production lines.
  • Troubleshooting:
  • Investigate and resolve welding-related issues to minimize downtime and maintain efficient production.
  • Implement corrective actions and preventive measures to address welding defects and inconsistencies.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Establish and enforce quality standards for welding processes to ensure the production of high-quality products.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Production Support:
  • Provide technical support to production teams, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of welding processes.
  • Collaborate with production personnel to address real-time welding challenges and optimize production output.
  • Technology Integration:
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in welding technology.
  • Evaluate and recommend the adoption of new welding technologies to enhance efficiency and product quality.

What you'll bring:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in welding engineering, with a focus on resistance, ultrasonic, and/or laser welding processes.
  • Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or production environment, with a track record of successful process development and optimization.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze and resolve complex welding issues.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with project management and the ability to lead and execute welding-related projects.
