Role Description

We are seeking a Process Engineer to join the rapidly growing NPI Operations team here at Form Energy. In this role, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our existing production processes. Your expertise in process engineering will contribute to the production of our product from raw materials to final stages. Your desire to streamline processes and improve efficiency with data-based decisions will allow you to make big and small improvements that have a direct impact on our scaled operations. This is an opportunity to roll up your sleeves and have a direct impact on a first of its kind technology and manufacturing line.

This role will start onsite in Eighty Four, PA and then transition to Weirton, WV in 2024 upon completion of our factory construction. Relocation assistance is available.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and implement new processes and procedures to optimize and sustain the battery production processes, improve quality, and increase efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and solve production issues while maintaining product quality standards
  • Conduct root cause analysis and develop corrective and preventive actions to improve processes, equipment, and systems
  • Develop, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and ensure that targets are met or exceeded
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies related to environmental, health, and safety
  • Support the usage of PLM, MES, ERP systems, and other tools related to manufacturing and sustainability
  • Support factory layout/optimization efforts, capacity planning, scalability plans, crew cycling, tool cycling, etc.

What you'll bring:

  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Materials, or Manufacturing Engineering, or related field, or equivalent
  • Experience in production engineering or manufacturing
  • Experience working with other engineering departments to improve the manufacturability of a products and processes (DFMA & PFMEAs) and implementing controls for risk mitigation
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies, in addition to using SPCs in a production environment
  • Ability to analyze complex data and develop effective, data driven solutions
  • Willingness to be hands on to solve problems, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where changes in design and processes are expected
