Role Description

Form Energy is hiring an EHS Specialist to further develop and manage the daily functions of the Form Energy EHS programs at our Berkeley, CA facility. This role reports to our EHS Site Lead. As part of the EHS team, you will collaborate with the research and development and engineering teams to establish robust practices that will positively improve the site’s safety culture. As an EHS Specialist, you will play a key role in promoting a safe and compliant work environment at our Berkeley, CA site. This position is ideal for recent graduates with limited experience who are eager to grow in the field of environmental, health, and safety.

What you'll do:

Responsibilities will include the following and may include other duties as assigned.

  • Maintain an on-the-floor presence and provide technical assistance and advice to managers, supervisors, and employees regarding environmental health and safety issues.
  • Provide and promote employee awareness, training, and compliance on matters of environmental, health, and safety.
  • Develop, administer, and implement environmental, health, and safety programs in accordance with governmental requirements.
  • Provide subject matter expertise for hazard assessments and job safety analyses of new or revised processes and materials.
  • Identify and track the completion of corrective actions that ensure worker safety, which may result from EHS program reviews, workplace inspections and audits, and incident investigations.
  • Monitor environmental activities, including compliance, reporting, and auditing efforts.
  • Communicate with other Form Energy locations to determine best practices to optimize safety program efficiency and effectiveness.

What you'll bring:

  • 2 to 5 years proven EHS experience, preferably in research and development.
  • Well-developed communication and organizational skills.
  • General knowledge of federal and state agency regulations including EPA, OSHA, DOT, Cal OSHA, DTSC, and others.
  • Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities and complete tasks on time in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong technical, interpersonal, organizational and communications (written and oral) skills.
  • ASP, CSP, CHMM or similar certification preferred.
  • RCRA & DOT/IATA certifications desired.
  • An accredited bachelor’s degree in safety, environmental science, chemistry, or engineering required.
