About the Venture
The venture is pioneering scalable acoustic sensing powered by AI — transforming audio into real-time intelligence.
The team builds hardware and software specifically designed for acoustic data, capable of extracting insights from complex sound environments. Their proprietary ultra-low-power sonic devices process acoustic signals in real-time, forming the basis of a Large Acoustic Model (LAM) — a foundational AI model built to decode non-speech audio.
The company is initially focused on the manufacturing sector, particularly compressed air systems — a major and often overlooked source of energy waste. Future applications include energy, defence, space, and smart cities — areas where acoustic sensing holds massive untapped potential.
About the Role The team are looking to hire a Mechatronic Engineer (Embedded Systems) to join their small and growing team out of Munich. In this role you will own:
Sensor Design & Embedded Hardware
- Design and prototype analog/mixed-signal PCBs for acoustic sensing
- Select and integrate sensor components for robust industrial performance
- Develop low-noise amplification and ADC pipelines for real-time data acquisition
Wireless Communication
- Develop secure, high-speed wireless systems in collaboration with IoT and engineering teams
- Integrate wireless modules to enable stable cloud connectivity
Data Acquisition System (DAQ) Design
- Build scalable systems for synchronised, continuous sensor data collection and storage
- Ensure data integrity and accessibility for downstream analytics and ML applications
Project Management
- Lead R&D collaborations with external partners to co-develop low-power, high-bandwidth monitoring hardware
- Shape the hardware development roadmap alongside company leadership
