Job Description

You’ll be working with the product and engineering team.

This team runs on coffee with an infectious passion to build products that have never been built before. Our Flexible Energy Stack consists of the e^pack (battery pack) and e^pump (charging station) which together unlock 15-minute rapid charging.

Our philosophy: Break. Believe. Build

Break stuff. Break assumptions. Break the thumb rule.
Believe in the team. Believe in the process. Believe through failures.
Build fast. Build passionately. Build to simplify.

What you will do:

At Exponent, we unlocked 15-min rapid charging of Lithium-ion battery as a result of our E-pump (Charger) and E-pack
(Battery) working together. This needs a seamless integration of energy and data between the two. And that’s exactly what you'll be responsible for.

An integration engineer is like a composer — they ensure the whole orchestra works in tandem with all the other parts creating music and not noise.

You will need a wide understanding of electronics, firmware/software, and mechanical design.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand requirements and Define the Architecture needed
  • Define Sub-System Requirements: Break down system-level requirements into sub-system requirements.
  • Work with individual sub-system owners till the end of production. Do whatever is needed to get there.
  • Setup integration and testing
  • Establish the right test standards
  • Raise bugs, assign them to relevant sub-systems and prioritize
  • Work with the right people on RCAs and resolve bugs
  • Make sure the product is meeting all specifications

The ideal candidate requires:

  • Experience in taking a component to production (Design, Analysis and DFX)
  • Good experience working on hardware, firmware and software
  • Good understanding of mechanical aspects of a product ( Thermal, IP etc)
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
  • Hands-on experience working with high voltage and high power systems
  • Should understand specifications and should have a tendency to ask “Why”

    What matters less:

  • Years of experience
  • Formal qualification

What matters more:

  • Quality of work
  • Approach towards problem-solving
  • Dissatisfaction towards mediocre work
  • Resilient attitude to bounce back after failing
