At Eternal Sun we design and manufacture high end solar simulators for the global solar industry. Solar simulators are critical tools used in manufacturing (for quality checking and measuring solar panels) and in research (for developing the next generation of high efficient solar panels). Our client base ranges from research laboratories in locations such as Mexico and Australia to some of the largest solar panel producers in the world in America and Asia. The role

Because of the strong growth in the solar market our company is looking for an additional Field Service Engineer located in USA. The main responsibilities will be installation and servicing of equipment at customer facilities and providing remote support/troubleshooting.

Examples of a working day as a Field Service Engineer:

• Planning an upgrade on a system in a production line together with the production manager from the customer to minimize downtime.
• Having a call with the software and hardware engineers in the head office to brainstorm a troubleshoot during an installation.
• Supporting a customer over the phone who is experiencing unexpected measurement results on their laboratory simulator.

• Running the first tests on a machine you just installed as part of the site acceptance test with the customer.

  Therefore you will enjoy:

• Being hands on with equipment
• Confidently and independently traveling around the world
• Interacting with customers on a technical level
• Troubleshooting and understanding the applications behind the equipment
• Learning and being inventive

• Working with an international team and customers

  The role will involve a mixture of working on site at customers and working from home. Our main USA customer is a large Solar Panel Manufacturer based near Toledo Ohio, living at a distance from this location where travel does not require getting on a plane is preferred. Training at our head office in The Netherlands is provided to support you in the role.

  The following skills are an absolute must-have:

• Willing and able to travel when required
• Experience as a Service Engineer
• Proven analytic problem solver
• Knowledge of both mechanical and electrical engineering

• Strong communication and reporting skills (English)

  Any of the following skills are a plus:

• Knowledge of optical engineering
• Experience with software control of machines
• Experience with solar technology

• Experience with Root Cause Analysis structing
