EnergySage is looking for a writer with deep experience in residential solar power and energy storage to join our team in Boston, MA.

The ideal candidate has excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience creating and implementing engaging and informative digital content relating to clean energy. This person should have expert-level knowledge in the clean energy industry, with an emphasis on residential solar energy. The Senior Content Writer is a critical member of the Marketing department and reports directly to the Director of Content and Consumer Education.

What You’ll Do:

  • Educate consumers about residential solar power and energy storage solutions, helping them accelerate transformation of their homes and lives to cleaner, most cost-effective energy solutions
  • Develop original consumer-facing content for the web (written and video) and improve/optimize existing content that educates, engages, and delights readers, and stands out in SEO.
  • In addition to covering solar power and energy storage, contribute across a range of clean energy topics as needed, including heating and cooling, electric vehicles and charging, smart homes, policy, and more.
  • Conduct primary and secondary research to identify and stay ahead of clean energy industry trends and collect information for content. Research would include interviewing key industry stakeholders, literature search, etc.
  • Develop compelling and accurate content for all stages of the customer lifecycle.
  • Strengthen EnergySage as the destination site for customers researching solar and energy storage to find answers to their questions and gain the confidence to transform the way they power their homes.
  • Understand and help execute the brand’s long-term goals and strategies.
  • Peer-edit content from other members of the content marketing team

What We Look For:

  • Superior clean energy expertise, with a focus on residential solar energy and energy storage
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to tailor written messages to the audience and medium
  • Intellectual curiosity
  • Ability to research and develop thorough understanding of subjects relevant to our readers and synthesize information into easy-to-understand content
  • Understanding and experience in content marketing and communications tactics, such as SEO, digital, and social media
  • 5+ years of experience working and an established network in the clean energy industry
  • Demonstrated ability to cultivate relationships with industry influencers and stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
