The product team currently consists of 10 high performing product managers & product management leaders who are highly engaged in the work we do and care deeply about each other and our mission to empower people to make smarter energy decisions through simplicity, transparency, and choice.

The Director of Product Management - Supply Role

As the Director of Product Management for the Supply Side of our marketplace, you will play a pivotal role in elevating the value we offer to our solar, storage, EV charging, & heat pump contractor network. Reporting directly to the VP of Product Management, this role will drive exponential, efficient growth of the contractors active on our platform and work to make EnergySage the most vital component of any contractor’s business. You will be instrumental in shaping our Product strategy, working closely with your counterparts in Marketing and Sales & Operations to create a unified vision and direction.

What You'll Do:

  • Develop a vision & roadmap to make EnergySage a must-have component of any solar, energy storage, EV charging, heat pump contractor’s business, in alignment with the EnergySage product vision & enabled by a deep understanding of your customers, stakeholder needs and the relevant business & industry landscape.
  • Drive impact through your team & agile team partners in design and engineering, execute & deliver the roadmap to drive significant business outcomes that exponentially grow our active contractor base in efficient, lasting ways.
  • Engage in and facilitate continuous product discovery–talk to customers, dig into the data, hold stakeholder workshops–constantly deepening your understanding of your customers, problem space and the relevant business and industry landscape.
  • Deliver projects that have clear and compelling strategic impact for the business and our contractor network, operating with speed to impact in mind and knowing how to prioritize and pivot to maximize that impact.
  • Guide and oversee your team of PMs in defining the products and features that make up your roadmap, through product specification and in collaboration with cross-functional partners, drawing from your own hands-on experience and modeling the way when required.
  • Write clear and concise product specs/epics to generate stakeholder alignment, support smooth engineering handoff and ensure high quality output.
  • Lead a high performing team of product managers based both in Boston & in Serbia, developing, coaching, managing performance and hiring as needed.
  • Leverage data through our various self-service tools to identify opportunities, make informed product and prioritization decisions and measure and evaluate the success of your roadmap.
  • Work with stakeholders at all levels of the company, collaborating and building alignment around your plans.
  • Influence and contribute to the strategic roadmap and EnergySage product vision.
  • Drive the adoption of renewable energy through home electrification and fight climate change.

What We Look For:

  • 8+ years of work experience in B2B product management roles, working with cross-functional teams of engineers, designers, etc; Solar or marketplace supply background required.
  • 3+ years of experience managing high performing product managers
  • Bias for action and impact. You operate with a sense of urgency and move quickly toward outcomes, pivoting as necessary and proactively iterating to improve– and you embed the same values within your team.
  • Strong customer empathy & familiarity with user research.
  • You use a combination of metrics, research and intuition to evaluate opportunities, establish roadmaps, define clear product requirements and enable the build of solutions.
  • Fluency with defining and leveraging data to drive decisions and measure progress.
  • Ability to develop evidence-backed cases for your work in a way that is impossible to refute or ignore.
  • Comfort and ability to work within high complexity, and ability to filter signal from noise to drive toward the appropriate outcome.
  • Strong communication and organization skills. You set expectations, are clear and transparent and know how to keep the right people informed of your progress.
  • Ability to make decisions that affect the team, work with ambiguity and be flexible/nimble
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience
