Job Description

EnergyHub empowers utilities and their customers to create a clean, distributed energy future. We help consumers turn their smart thermostats, EVs, batteries, and other products into virtual power plants that keep the grid stable and enable higher penetration of solar and wind power.

In order to transform that data into valuable solutions for the energy industry, EnergyHub is hiring a Director of Product to join the team in developing best-in-class visualizations and reporting systems for massive amounts of data from smart devices being managed by us and our clients with the goal of grid decarbonization. Your work will enable both internal and external users to develop a deep understanding of how EnergyHub’s software platform solves real-world energy challenges by building and managing virtual power plants (VPPs).

Reporting to the VP of Product, the Director of Product will be responsible for all of our data pipelines and internal and client-facing analytics features, spanning multiple data sources and solutions. The successful candidate will bring deep experience in creating data products, leading product managers, and forging strong cross-functional relationships that accelerate progress towards the company mission.

What you’ll do:

  • Align our data and analytics platform strategy with the strategic vision of the company, and implement and measure KPIs to track progress
  • Evaluate and implement solutions for data entry, ingestion processes, and data quality assurance
  • Establish a product roadmap that continuously delivers fresh insights to our utility clients
  • Lead and mentor a team of Product Managers focused on solving problems and discovering opportunities
  • Model best-in-class product development skills and help shape process and standards for the entire product management team
  • Work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to continuously discover and validate the product vision and strategy
  • Collaborate with engineering, data science, design, and other product managers to deliver scalable, insightful, and delightful products on time and to scale our current capabilities
  • Bring a fresh perspective to our team, offering suggestions we haven’t considered, pointing out problems that need to be solved, and helping us move forward in our mission
  • Other duties as assigned

What you bring:

  • 7+ years of software product management, including 3+ years managing a team of high-performing product managers
  • Significant experience defining and building data and analytics products with notable technical complexity (including understanding of data structures, analytical aptitude, and technical skills like writing SQL queries)
  • Ability to think strategically with a willingness to be hands-on in day-to-day product work
  • Deep curiosity, a growth mindset, and drive to resolve ambiguity
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience aligning and influencing cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholders, including senior leadership
  • Bias for quantifiable results (versus activity) and willingness to hold yourself and others accountable for delivering results
  • Passion for sustainability, renewable energy, and driving positive environmental impact
  • (Preferred) Experience working with electric utilities or IoT
  • (Preferred) Familiarity with modern grid management and planning tools and frameworks

The salary range for this position is $165,000 - $180,000. Base pay offered may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
