Job Description
Electric Hydrogen’s mission is to make molecules to decarbonize our world! Our outstanding people are our most important asset and will allow us to deliver hydrogen from renewable electrolysis for heavy industry, at prices below fossil fuels.
We're looking for a Senior Process Development Engineer to join our team. You will lead the development and implementation of inking and casting processes to ensure new product introduction, quality, and throughput improvements.
You will work onsite at our Devens, MA office reporting into the Director of Process Engineering.
Primary Responsibilities
- Design processes that can withstand variations in input parameters (e.g., raw material, equipment settings) while maintaining output quality
- Plan verification to demonstrate initial feasibility and manufacturing capability
- Resolve process-related issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
- Create detailed process flow diagrams, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs) and other documentation to ensure consistency and quality
- Establish proper Statistical Process Control (SPC) schemes for new processes
- Lead continuous improvement programs and identify new opportunities for process optimization
- Present concise reports advising the readiness of manufacturing processes to diverse set of program partners
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Polymers, chemical Engineering, or related field
- 8+ years of experience with metrology of inks, catalysts layers, and electrodes
- Hands-on laboratory experience with roll-to-roll coating of layers
- Particle size analysis, rheometry, XRF, and mechanical testing of layers with instruments such as: DMA, Nano-indenter, scratch and peel tester
- Experience with electrolyzers, fuel cells, or similar electrochemical systems

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job-related skills, as well as relevant education or training and experience.
