Job Description

E-magy is looking for a battery engineer with experience in the field of Li-ion batteries and a background in the behaviour of silicon material in Li-ion batteries. Experience with silicon related performance degradation, especially under calendaric lifetime and storage conditions is a pre.
The battery engineer should, based on his/her knowledge and experience, contribute to increase the performance of E-magy silicon material in batteries and demonstrate the performance in battery testing. This includes research on silicon material phase changes and degradation mechanisms that limit the performance of the product. It is expected that these research results will be applied with the objective of improving battery performance in-house and with customers.
The battery engineer will be part of a small, agile team of scientist(s) and laboratory technicians and will interact with partner institutes/universities.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Actively participate in the cyclability program, with a great component of experimental work, fabricating and testing in-house cells (experience in building pouch cells is desirable)
- Lead the studies related to calendaring lifetime and storage aging
- Actively participate in the modelling of degradation mechanisms vis e.g. COMSOL tools or suitable mathematical models
The position reports to the Lead Battery Scientist at E-magy. It is a full-time position on site of E-magy in Broek op Langedijk. Traveling to research partners and project meetings is expected.
