Job Description

About Dig Energy, Inc.

Dig Energy is an early-stage energy startup working to create affordable geothermal energy at a global scale. We have developed a new, radically inexpensive installation method that enables us to create geothermal boreholes anywhere in the world. Our technology works with buildings of all types: commercial and residential heating/cooling, as well as refrigeration. We’ve raised funding from top investors and are now moving from R&D to commercialization. We are actively assembling our first production system and have multiple commercial installations lined up for this summer.

Due to the hands-on nature of our work, this is an on-site role. Time will be split between our headquarters in Manchester, NH, our shop space in Derry, NH and test/customer sites in and out of New England.

The Role

We are looking for our first engineering technician to support assembly, testing, qualification and deployment of our first geothermal installation system. This role requires someone who is equally comfortable in an engineering prototyping environment as they are supporting installations in the field. They will work closely with engineering and operations to build, maintain and operate our system. They must be hands-on, adaptable, hard-working and a strong team player, with a bias towards action and an anything-to-get-the-job-done mentality.

What You Will Do

  • Support engineering in R&D tests
  • Electromechanical assembly to include but not limited to mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and basic electrical
  • Build and redline engineering drawings and provide clear feedback to the design team
  • Maintenance on our custom drilling equipment
  • Learn to operate our drilling and borehole array installation machines and be a key member of our commercial installation team
  • Provide clear and concise feedback on possible design improvements and new features

Who You Are

  • Capable of reading and interpreting engineering drawings, assembly instructions and schematics
  • Resourceful and highly collaborative team player who think creatively, has high attention to detail, and can work with a cross-functional team that is trying to move as quickly as possible
  • Comfortable with mechanical assembly processes, hydraulics, high pressure systems and electrical systems
  • 3+ years of experience as an engineering technician, prototype technician, field service technician or similar role
  • Willingness and ability to travel to installation sites as needed
  • Experience in an early-stage startup that is deploying their first systems is a plus

Perks

  • Fully paid, excellent healthcare plan and flexible vacation policy
  • Beautiful office in Manchester, NH with shop space in Derry, NH
  • Opportunity to work on wildly interesting technical problems with responsibility and support to help you grow
