The role will enhance CCR’s greenfield development efforts by analyzing electrical grids to identify new opportunities for interconnecting solar and storage projects, scrutinizing pre-NTP interconnection study results, identifying opportunities to accelerate pre-NTP interconnection study process and post-LGIA construction schedules, and supporting LGIA negotiation. The role will be housed in the Development team and require close collaboration with M&A and Development Engineering teams to drive project success. • Power flow modeling tools commonly used in generator interconnection and transmission planning studies (especially TARA, PSS/E, PowerWorld or similar software package)
  • Familiarity with geospatial and common grid analysis software tools (ARCGis, Nira, Pearl Street, etc)

The candidate will report to the Sr. Director, Market Design & Interconnection, and work closely with the Associate Director, Market Design & Interconnection.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience managing interconnection requests and study processes at a large infrastructure developer, an electric utility, transmission provider, or energy consultant, ideally in the WECC or SERC. Similar experience at other ISOs/RTO is acceptable.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills, and the ability to synthesize and effectively communicate results into conclusions and recommendations
  • Evidence of externally facing roles, ideally showing ability to build consensus with diverse stakeholders and key opinion leaders, with a preference for candidates with a strong network of transmission providers
