Job Description

Crusoe's mission is to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence. We’re crafting the engine that powers a world where people can create ambitiously with AI — without sacrificing scale, speed, or sustainability.

Be a part of the AI revolution with sustainable technology at Crusoe. Here, you'll drive meaningful innovation, make a tangible impact, and join a team that’s setting the pace for responsible, transformative cloud infrastructure.

About This Role:

At Crusoe, our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team plays a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our infrastructure. In Dublin, we have SRE teams that support Storage, Compute, Software Defined Networking and our hardware fleet.

We are dedicated to detecting, analyzing, and preventing customer-impacting issues, in our own-built data centers, and our custom infrastructure stack. This is a ‘low-level’ SRE role, as reliability issues may stem from hardware or firmware bugs that need to be reported to our hardware vendors. Stability or performance issues may require a familiarity with the Linux kernel source, including third-party modules provided by hardware vendors. SREs are expected to contribute to the codebase of the Crusoe orchestration stack, which is mostly written in Go.

We are deeply embedded in Crusoe’s “New Production Introduction” process, where we take cutting edge networking and AI hardware, integrate them into our infrastructure, and provide them to our customers before anyone else in the industry. Answers to our problems are rarely on the Internet, and our customers expect that we will fix problems, whatever the cause, promptly.

Like any SRE role, we use SLOs, Post-Mortems, and design reviews to prevent and surface errors as early as possible. More than most SRE roles, we value velocity over perfection; the AI industry moves very fast, and being first-to-market is critical.

What You’ll Be Working On:

As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at Crusoe, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the performance, reliability, and scalability of our infrastructure. While some of your day may involve reviewing alerts or customer-reported issues, most of your time will be spent on impactful project work with our software engineering team.

You’ll work on projects such as commissioning new data centers, automating and qualifying hardware platforms, and benchmarking components and full systems. You may also step in on escalations, solving everything from kernel bugs to customer configuration issues, always with a focus on delivering an exceptional experience to our customers.

Our SREs work across the stack, from our VM scheduler and NVMe-over-TCP storage system to our Open vSwitch-based software-defined network, continuously improving observability, OS images, and production reliability.

Collaboration is central to this role: you’ll partner closely with global engineering teams, Customer Success, and business development on new opportunities and hardware partnerships. At Crusoe, our SREs don’t just keep the lights on, they’re a critical part of how we go the extra mile for our customers.

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

  • 5+ years of professional SRE experience
  • 3+ years of experience contributing to architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or 8+ years relevant work experience
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure design, including the operational trade-offs of hardware, operating systems and networks
  • Experience writing high quality code with at least one programming language (Python, Go, or similar)
  • Experience with Unix/Linux environments
  • Experience with server or network hardware
  • Experience with TCP/IP and network programming
  • Experience with information security best practices
  • Excellent communication skills

Bonus Points:

  • Excited to work with cutting edge AI training & inference hardware and networks
  • Experience running large, mission-critical storage systems / NVMe over Fabric
  • Experience building with modern infrastructure tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible, Cloud Formation, Terraform
  • Experience building with modern CI/CD practices and build systems, such as GitLab CI/CD, CircleCI, GitHub Actions
  • Experience with logging, monitoring and alerting systems and tools

Benefits:

  • Industry competitive pay
  • Restricted Stock Units in a fast growing, well-funded technology company
  • Health insurance package options that include HDHP and PPO, vision, and dental for you and your dependents
  • Employer contributions to HSA accounts
  • Paid Parental Leave
  • Paid life insurance, short-term and long-term disability
  • Teladoc
  • 401(k) with a 100% match up to 4% of salary
  • Generous paid time off and holiday schedule
  • Cell phone reimbursement
  • Tuition reimbursement
  • Subscription to the Calm app
  • MetLife Legal
  • Company paid commuter benefit; $300 per month

Compensation:

Compensation will be paid as salary or hourly + Bonus. Compensation to be determined by the applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
