Job Description

What The Role Is

The Continuous Improvement Specialist will play a key role in driving improvements across the wind and solar fleet by working with the sites and members of the corporate staff, including the Engineering, Data Analytics and the RPMC to implement policy and procedural changes based on data, analytical observations and feedback from personnel. The Continuous Improvement Specialist will report directly to the Continuous Improvement Manager.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Develop and perform a continuous Lost Energy Analysis to quantify sub-optimal performance and opportunity at assigned wind, solar and battery storage plants
  • Perform Turbine and Inverter Fault Code Analysis and work with engineering and site personnel to lower the amount of faults through changes in standard work practices
  • Aid in the development of Technician Troubleshooting Training and Procedures
  • Perform 5 Why and Contributing Factor Analysis and push "simple" investigation strategies for qualifying events in the region
  • Build and maintain a Performance Dashboard for the assigned region
  • Assist with the development of Corrective Action Plans for assets that exhibit chronic underperformance
  • Share lessons learned across the fleet
  • Assist in the development of spare parts strategy
  • Review and optimize the reset criteria
  • Report performance to the Regional and General Manager on a monthly basis
  • Represent the assigned region in the monthly COO Lost Energy Call to explain the energy impacts and corrective action plans
  • Follow safety procedures, observe safe working practices and maintain a safe working environment
  • Operate and maintain a service vehicle when required
  • Other assigned duties as determined by the CI Manage

What You'll Bring

  • High school diploma or GED is required
  • Associate degree (electrical or technical) is preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of wind turbine/solar inverter repair and maintenance experience
  • Able to meet the requirements of CEG’s Qualified Electrical Worker program
  • Able to climb towers unassisted up to 300 feet
  • Able to work safely in a wide range of adverse climates and environments
  • Experience maintaining wind turbines/solar inverters at a high availability factor
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and good driving record
  • In-depth knowledge of fleet systems including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and SCADA.
  • Mechanical aptitude and basic electrical knowledge
  • Proficiency in using MS Office software to include spreadsheet and document applications
  • Familiar with analytics and reporting programs such as PI Vision, Spotfire, Power BI and Tobias
  • Proficient in SAP and able to pull reports and analyze the data for deficiencies
  • Knowledge of applicable safety and environmental regulations
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a multi-tasking team
  • Able to travel as required - Up to 50%

The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, relevant and demonstrated experience, education, training and certifications, and other factors permitted by law. This role is eligible to earn an annual cash bonus, subject to personal and company performance goals.

Salary Range Across all U.S. Locations

$85,000—$113,000 USD
