Job Description

  • Co-design capacity development courses, programs, solutions and interventions with the research programs at CIMMYT and other technical partners that collaborate with the Academy under the guidance of senior capacity development specialist.
  • Assist in structuring learning content, including learning objectives, modules, activities, and basic assessments.
  • Build engaging learning activities and compelling course content that enhances retention and knowledge transfer.
  • Support the development and formatting of instructional materials such as presentations, infographics, learner guides, facilitator guides, worksheets, and multimedia resources.
  • Assist with basic editing, layout, and quality checks of learning materials to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with institutional guidelines.
  • Support the organization and version control of learning content and materials.
  • Upload, organize, and maintain course content in Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • LMS Administration: Provide day-to-day administration and operational support for the CIMMYT Academy Learning Management System (LMS), including course setup and maintenance, user enrollment and support, uploading and organizing learning materials, monitoring learner participation and course completion, generating basic usage reports, and coordinating with instructors and IT teams to ensure smooth delivery of online and blended learning activities.
  • Assist in testing courses and learning activities prior to launch and support troubleshooting during delivery.
  • Contribute to documenting lessons learned, reports, good practices, and improvements for future courses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or technical studies in education, social sciences, administration, communication, international development, project management, or related fields.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience providing administrative, operational, or technical support to training, education, capacity development, or development projects.
  • Experience working in multicultural environments or with international organizations is desirable.
  • Basic knowledge of adult learning principles and capacity development processes.
  • Proficiency in digital tools (Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace).
  • Desirable experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and virtual learning platforms.
  • Basic knowledge of online course design and instructional materials development.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow up on multiple tasks.
  • Spanish and English (intermediate to advanced)
  • Teamwork and collaboration.
