CIMMYT is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and service-oriented professional for the position of Administrative Assistant to work in the Genetic Resources Program (GRP).

The positions will be based at CIMMYT headquarters in Texcoco, near Mexico City.

Specific duties:

  • Promptly organize and summarize expense receipts/invoices from the program staff in coordination with other Administrative Assistants.
  • Preparation of invoice journals and payment requests from different GRP units and prompt submission to Accounting office for processing.
  • Prompt preparation of purchase requisitions for all types of program procurement and material withdrawal from the CIMMYT’s warehouses.
  • Keeping a systematic monitoring sheet of GRP’s transactions with enabling units to facilitate quick reference and timely follow up when needed.
  • Perform other related tasks within the job level as maybe requested by the immediate supervisor.

Requirements

  • A graduate of bachelor in administration or related field.
  • The selected candidate must have at least 6 months of experience in a similar role or activities.
  • The selected candidate should preferably have an advanced level in MS Office Suite application (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.). Experience with MS Dynamics is desirable.
  • Basic level of English.
  • High level of responsibility, confidentiality, prioritization, and initiative.
  • The selected candidate must exhibit the following competencies: Initiative, Communication, Achievement orientation, Teamwork and Pro-Activity.
