CIMMYT is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and service-oriented professional for the position of Finance Coordinator to be a part of CIMMYT. This position will be based in Dhaka.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
- Document financial transactions by entering account information.
- Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
- Summarize current financial status by collecting information, preparing a balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
- Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents.
- Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
- Guide accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
- Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
- Secure financial information by completing database backups.
- Maintain financial security by following internal controls.
- Prepare payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
- Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
- Comply with HQ and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
- Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Accomplish the result by performing the duty.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- Master’s in finance/accounting or related field. Professional qualification (CA/CPA/CIMA/ACCA) will be an added advantage.
- Thorough knowledge of the field of work or specialized equipment.
- Basic knowledge of administrative and/or operating protocols and procedures of research support function.
- Basic Supervisory skills and experience.
- Advance level expertise in MS Excel is required.
- Minimum 5 years in the development field/Auditor supervisor in reputed firms/any local company with experience in service cost analysis by department, division, branch etc./handling different Donor funded projects (USAID, BMGF, EU etc.)
- Knowledge of IFR’s is a must.
- Knowledge of local taxation of non-profit entities would be an added advantage.
- Ability to do all accounting activities independently.
- Experience with special projects implementing procedures and policies of internal controls.
- Experience doing monthly and permanent reconciliations to ALL the accounts of the Balance Sheet and P & L.
- The selected candidate requires the following competencies: Teamwork, Client Orientation, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving.

The position is for Bangladesh Nationals for an initial fixed-term contract of 1-year with 3 months probationary period, which further employment is subject to performance and the continued availability of funds.
