CIMMYT is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and service-oriented professional for the position of Finance Coordinator to be a part of CIMMYT. This position will be based in Dhaka.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Document financial transactions by entering account information.
• Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
• Summarize current financial status by collecting information, preparing a balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
• Substantiate financial transactions by auditing documents.
• Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
• Guide accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
• Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
• Secure financial information by completing database backups.
• Maintain financial security by following internal controls.
• Prepare payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
• Answer accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
• Comply with HQ and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
• Prepare special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
• Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping financial information confidential.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
• Accomplish the result by performing the duty.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

• Master’s in finance/accounting or related field. Professional qualification (CA/CPA/CIMA/ACCA) will be an added advantage.
• Thorough knowledge of the field of work or specialized equipment.
• Basic knowledge of administrative and/or operating protocols and procedures of research support function.
• Basic Supervisory skills and experience.
• Advance level expertise in MS Excel is required.
• Minimum 5 years in the development field/Auditor supervisor in reputed firms/any local company with experience in service cost analysis by department, division, branch etc./handling different Donor funded projects (USAID, BMGF, EU etc.)
• Knowledge of IFR’s is a must.
• Knowledge of local taxation of non-profit entities would be an added advantage.
• Ability to do all accounting activities independently.
• Experience with special projects implementing procedures and policies of internal controls.
• Experience doing monthly and permanent reconciliations to ALL the accounts of the Balance Sheet and P & L.
