Senior Accountant

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in our financial operations, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and efficiency. In this role, you'll manage the month-end close process, prepare financial statements, reconcile accounts, and analyze variances. Working closely with your team to identify areas of improvement and implement effective accounting practices, you will contribute to strategic decision-making and provide valuable insights that drive the company's success.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Maintain accounting systems as well as manage vendor master file and chart of accounts.
  • Assist with general ledger accounting functions and activities.
  • Oversee the activities of the Accounts Payable functions, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices, purchase orders, employee expense reports, cash control, payroll processing, and total corporate payroll tax compliance.
  • Oversee the activities of the Accounts Receivable functions to ensure the accurate and timely management of all accounts receivable aging components, including billings, cash receipts application, collections, etc.
  • Perform cash management, including balance reporting, cash flow forecasting, and projections.
  • Execute monthly accounting closes in accordance with the required time and quality standards.
  • Ensure all journals and adjustments are supported by underlying analyses and comply with internal accounting policies.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Oversee the activities of the accounting functions for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports, including, but not limited to, internal/external monthly financial statements, annual audits, and annual budgets.
  • Help lead quarterly and year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit.
  • Establish, maintain, and monitor a system of internal controls and accounting procedures to ensure the integrity of all systems, processes, and data to provide accurate financial results.
  • Perform monthly financial reporting meetings and exceed deadlines set by the company.
  • Assist with the budget process and financial reforecasts.
  • Assess current practices and procedures and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Partner with stakeholders to identify accounting issues arising from business transactions.
  • Help implement Company-approved accounting policies, procedures, and controls over financial reporting.
  • Leverage systems tools to effectively improve reconciliations, processes, analyses, and reporting, as well as to identify process efficiencies within the designated areas of scope.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or similar required.
  • 2+ years of senior accountant-level experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Certified Public Accountant designation is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing/start-up environment is a plus!
  • Highly analytical and strategic and possesses calculated decision-making capabilities.
  • Impeccable communication skills and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
  • The ability to consistently meet deadlines and be accessible to the team.
  • Possess “pride of ownership” and a motivation to succeed.
  • Strong organizational skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.

Location

Georgetown, TX (4 days onsite/1 day remote with occasional flexibility)

Working Conditions/Hours

Full-time/Salaried

  • Able/willing to travel and work as needed.
  • Available/willing to work overtime to meet project commitments as required.

Work Environment – Office

Includes both a typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues, and a shop environment, with exposure to high noise levels from operating machines, physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts, nuisance dust, and exposure to hazardous materials used in the manufacturing process.

Physical Demands – Office

This position requires the ability to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers to handle or feel and manipulate keys on a keyboard.
