Quality Engineer

We are looking for ambitious, hands-on Quality Engineers to join our team and drive the adoption of CelLink’s technology within the automotive industry.

This will be a multi-faceted role, with functions including:

  • Directly interfacing with OEM and Tier customers to communicate regarding issues, specifications, and part qualification
  • Performing root cause analyses to troubleshoot production issue
  • Data analysis of process quality and visual inspection systems.
  • Develop and maintain auto-inspection libraries (AI based defect network)
  • Continuously improve in-process and incoming inspection methodologies for high volume circuit production.
  • Develop control plans and inspection standards to ensure products are processed correctly and function correctly
  • Work with process engineering to validate that design intent is maintained within manufacturing/assembly process
  • Analyze station and line yield data to determine key areas for continuous yield improvement
  • Develop and maintain ISO9001, ISO14001 and IATF16949 compliant Quality Management Systems

Duties for this position include:

  • Make use of product development cycle and APQP disciplines to meet product deadlines.
  • Support industry best practices and processes to ensure design quality meets performance specifications.
  • Maintain documentation required based on customer, regulatory, and system-level requirements.
  • Interpret technical requirements and specifications from OEM and Tier customers to form robust control plans and inspection standards
  • Support Design reviews, with emphasis for design for manufacturability (DfM) and design for quality (DfQ)
  • Conduct and facilitate PFMEA and DFMEA reviews
  • Create and maintain documents needed for PPAP submission
  • Support production line operator training and certification ▪ Generate and modify work instructions for production operators.
  • Audit processes and systems for traceability of product and component materials
  • Create documents required to get compliant for ISO9001, ISO14001 and IATF16949 standards

A qualified candidate will have a large subset of these skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience developing AI and deep learning-based machine vision metrology applications where defects can be trained using simple UI’s
  • Ability to differentiate among various defect conditions and train the vision system to detect them.
  • Prior experience of FMEA, Control Plan, and Inspection Plans
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001:2015, IATF16949:2016)
  • Prior experience in technical writing is strongly desired
  • Ability to understand requirements of wire harness and battery performance & test specifications
  • Working experience with or knowledge of Quality & Reliability disciplines (8D, APQP, Six Sigma)
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation), with ability to discuss technical materials with wide range of audiences
  • Self-starter – not afraid to get your hands dirty, take the lead, wear different “hats” depending on the day in a fast-paced startup atmosphere
  • Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.)

Position will be based at CelLink in Georgetown TX with occasional travel to Suppliers and Customers as needed.

Physical Demands – Office and Manufacturing Environment

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and pull/push; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment –

Includes both a typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues, and a shop environment, with exposure to high noise levels from operating machines, physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts, nuisance dust, and skin exposure to chemicals used to run/maintain machines

PPE-

May be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to safety glasses, safety shoes, bump-caps, gloves, hair nets, masks, & clean-room frocks while adhering to the prescribed safety procedures.
