Manufacturing Engineer

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing manufacturing processes and systems. Responsibilities include analyzing production data for improvement, managing production schedules, ensuring quality control, and developing/implementing new technologies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maximize manufacturing efficiency by evaluating, analyzing, and planning workflow, space requirements, workflow, equipment layout, and workforce utilization in compliance with any government regulations
  • Determine parts, equipment, and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications; develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements, researching testing methods, and conferring with equipment, process, and quality engineering teams; Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs
  • Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; train and guide technicians
  • Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Keep equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services
  • Live the company culture of integrity, teamwork, self-discipline, and professional competence
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience/Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Industrial, Systems, or other Engineering disciplines preferred
  • Minimum of 0-7 years experience working as an engineer, ideally in an electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using computer-aided design software (SolidWorks is ideal)
  • Lean Manufacturing; 5S methodology
  • Experience with workflow optimization/workload analysis
  • Experience with Statistical Process Control

Nice to have:

  • Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CmfgE)
  • Six Sigma Green Belt

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to safely and confidently operate and troubleshoot complex equipment
  • Independent problem solver with a desire to learn new skills and develop new technology
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements in a fast-paced start-up setting
  • Ability to work with ambiguity in a fast paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Working Conditions/Hours:

Salaried; exempt

Available/willing to work overtime to meet project commitments, as required

Position is 100% onsite in our Georgetown, TX manufacturing facility

Physical Demands – Office and Manufacturing Environment

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to the employee is regularly required to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day. The employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands or fingers to handle, or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee is required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and pull/push; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must lift and/or move up to 50 pounds without assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

PPE-

May be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to safety glasses, safety shoes, bump-caps, gloves, hair nets, masks, & clean-room frocks while adhering to the prescribed safety procedures. Ear Plugs are recommended in areas of high noise levels that meet minimum OSHA requirements.
