Equipment/Automation Engineering Intern

This position is responsible for monitoring part and process quality and implementing and sustaining corrective, preventative, and countermeasure actions.

• Shadow and support equipment and automation engineers with their day-to-day activities.
• Assist in the specification and procurement of tools and machine components.
• Use SolidWorks to create and update drawings and models.
• Use AutoCAD electrical to update electrical drawings.
• Work with a variety of resources to complete one term-long project to be determined.
• Live the company culture of integrity, teamwork, self-discipline, and professional competence.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Familiarity with programming languages such as C++, Python, or C#.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with CAD software or other design tools.
• Strong organizational skills and a detail-oriented mindset.
• Able to adapt to changing requirements in a fast-paced start-up setting.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong work ethic, and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
• Ability to use hand and machine tools safely.
• Independent problem solver who desires to learn new skills and develop new technology.

Educational Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a full-time academic program at an accredited college or university.
• BS. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Work Environment –

Includes both a typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues, and a shop environment, with exposure to high noise levels from operating machines, physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts, nuisance dust, and skin exposure to chemicals used to run/maintain machines

PPE-

May be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to safety glasses, safety shoes, bump-caps, gloves, hair nets, masks, & clean-room frocks while adhering to the prescribed safety procedures.
