Job Description

About Carbonfuture

Carbonfuture is building the trust infrastructure needed to scale durable carbon removal, a critical piece for us all to reach net zero. We enable CDR suppliers to bring high-quality projects to market and empower buyers to invest with confidence today. Together with our strategic investor SIX, we are laying the foundation for a trustworthy, liquid carbon removal market, unlocking the scale the planet urgently needs.

Your Role and Responsibilities

The carbon removal market is at an inflection point. Buyers are becoming more sophisticated, the supply side is maturing, and the conversations shaping this market - about quality, integrity, and scale - are happening right now. Carbonfuture sits at the center of those conversations, and we need someone who can make sure our voice is heard.

We're looking for a Senior Content & Communications Manager who can turn Carbonfuture's expertise into clear and engaging narratives that matter: for the buyers and suppliers building this market, for the journalists covering it, and for the broader ecosystem watching it take shape.

This is a hands-on writing role. You'll own Carbonfuture's editorial output, from content to sharp thought leadership and press outreach. You'll help our experts show up well at events and in interviews. And you'll develop the formats that keep Carbonfuture at the center of the conversation.

Key Responsibilities

Content & Storytelling

  • Research, write, and own Carbonfuture's content, like market reports, guides, whitepapers, editorial series, and other formats you consider great and will be able to shape and develop
  • Write thought leadership content and case studies that establish Carbonfuture as a credible, leading voice in the carbon removal market
  • Shape and strengthen Carbonfuture's editorial voice, ensuring clarity, distinctiveness, and narrative coherence across all public-facing materials

PR & Media Relations

  • Develop relationships with journalists, editors, podcast hosts, etc. covering climate, finance, and sustainability, and proactively pitch relevant story angles
  • Write and distribute press releases for company milestones and announcements
  • Track coverage and continuously refine outreach to reach the right audiences

Thought Leadership

  • Prepare Carbonfuture experts and executives for panels, keynotes, and interviews - developing talking points, narrative briefs, and positioning angles
  • Identify and help secure high-impact speaking opportunities for the team
  • Develop and produce digital formats (webinars, roundtables, ...): from theme development and storyline shaping to moderating the live discussion
  • Contribute to content strategy and storytelling for Carbonfuture-hosted events; occasionally moderate panels or discussions

What We’re Looking For

Experience:

  • Several years of experience (typically 5+ years) in a content, editorial, or communications role, ideally in a B2B or market-facing context
  • Proven track record producing high-quality long-form and short-form content; a strong portfolio is essential
  • Experience in PR or media relations, with demonstrated ability to develop story angles and secure coverage
  • Background in climate tech, sustainability, or carbon markets is a strong advantage, but exceptional writers from adjacent sectors with genuine curiosity about climate are very welcome to apply

Skills:

  • Exceptional written English — you write with the fluency and precision of a native speaker, across formats and audiences
  • Strong editorial judgement: you know and love to tinker with what makes a story work, and what makes it fall flat
  • Ability to translate complex, technical topics into compelling narratives for non-expert audiences
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally — extracting insight from busy subject-matter experts and turning it into content without slowing anyone down
  • Self-directed and organized, able to manage multiple content streams in parallel

What we offer

  • A ground-breaking business with an early foothold in the carbon removal industry and the ability to have a real impact on climate change
  • A rapidly growing international team with a shared mission to address climate change
  • Flexible working hours
  • Competitive salary
  • 30 days paid leave + bank holidays
  • Sports and Health benefits
  • Purpose-driven, ambitious colleagues and a friendly, open and inclusive environment

This position will require occasional early morning or evening work and some in-person attendance for all-staff or department-level events which will require overnight travel.
