Your role & responsibilities

As a Senior Product Manager, you will drive and shape our product Carbonfuture Marketplace. You lead a cross-functional product squad and collaborate closely with other product managers, product design, developers and our commercial and marketing teams. Your market and product insights inform your decisions and help us build the right things at the right time. Your work is instrumental in making carbon removal frictionless, enjoyable and scalable.

What is in store for you

  • Own our digital product Carbonfuture Marketplace from product vision and strategy to problem discovery all the way to measuring the impact of new releases.
  • Own and keep our product pipeline up-to-date and informative for all relevant stakeholders. Your prioritization ensures we build the right things at the right time.
  • Effectively connect and interact with our stakeholders to consistently identify their challenges, ensuring that we align our product goals and roadmap with their needs.
  • Turn customer pains and requirements into crisp, well-supported user stories and build them together with the agile development team.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of our product, its user base, and customer dynamics to effectively demonstrate how they interact and derive value from our offerings. You share such findings actively with the wider team.
  • Collaborate with marketing and business development to optimise our go-to-market and the awareness about our products and new releases.
  • Stay on top of the latest technology, market and policy trends that can help us shape our product and market positioning.

What you bring to the table

  • 5+ years of professional experience in digital B2B product management in start- or scale-ups in an American context.
  • You have a good grasp of software development and effectively communicate with engineering teams. A computer science or software engineering degree is a plus.
  • You can envision and execute the product strategy and align it with business goals and market needs.
  • You are analytical and easily break down complex topics into simple solutions. You leverage data analytics and metrics to inform decisions and product iteration.
  • You listen to and orchestrate various stakeholders with ease and humble confidence.
  • You get things done and couple high-quality standards with healthy pragmatism.
  • You have a keen sense for design processes and understand design thinking.
  • You communicate with joy and clarity. Your (user) stories are right and tight.
  • Your oral and written English is fluent. German is a plus.
  • You preferably have had exposure to climate tech and have a good understanding of financial markets.
  • You live a maximum of 6 hours by train from Freiburg.

What we offer

  • A challenging and meaningful role in an innovative and fast-growing ecopreneur.
  • A small but rapidly growing, internationally operating team that is passionate about having an impact on climate change.
  • We care about the optimal way to solve a problem and nurture a culture of creativity and collaboration.
  • Flexible working hours and the opportunity to work from remote or in our great office in downtown Freiburg.
  • A courageous, undogmatic and fair work environment.
  • It’s an exciting time to be in this rapidly emerging market, where we have the opportunity to become a leading provider of solutions to climate change globally.

Candidates from cultures and backgrounds underrepresented in VC-backed startups and the climate space are strongly encouraged to apply. A diverse and inclusive workplace where we learn from each other is an integral part of our culture. We actively welcome people of different backgrounds, experiences, abilities, and perspectives. We are an equal-opportunity employer. In the case of equal suitability, preference is given to structurally discriminated individuals.
