Job Description

Key Responsibilities and Outcomes

  • Electrical design and optimisation for modular carbon capture units.
  • Acting as Electrical Lead on Detailed Design and Fabrication projects
  • Developing electrical deliverables: electrical load list, single line diagrams, cable schedule, cable sizing calculations, electrical MTO and others as required.
  • Participate in multi-discipline project technical reviews including Scope of Work, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and 3D Model.
  • Assist and interface with other disciplines and stakeholders to execute project deliverables.
  • Review electrical deliverables from engineering contractors and coordinate with contractor to resolve technical queries.
  • Assist the Principal I&C Engineer in developing corporate procedures, standards, specifications, and the required design tools for the discipline.
  • Support testing, installation, and commissioning of carbon capture plants

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you should have a combination of the below knowledge, skills, and experience:

  • Degree qualified for the related discipline.
  • Experience of Electrical Engineering on heavy industry projects (Power, Oil & Gas, Chemical) from concept to start-up.
  • Proven ability for equipment specification and selection and in ensuring compliance from the suppliers.
  • Experience in the design of MV and LV Power distribution systems.
  • Competent in the application, specification and requisitioning of Motor Control Centres, Transformers and UPS equipment.
  • Competent in electrical requirements for Mechanical packages.
  • Competent in the specification of lighting and small power for control room buildings and process skids.
  • Experience in the design of trace heating for industrial piping systems.
  • Knowledge and understanding of UK, EU and international design codes, standards and regulations, including proven experience in the application of BS 7671.
  • Competent in the use of discipline related software packages. The use of AutoCAD LT for implementation of electrical drawings would also be desirable.
  • High technical fluency with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
  • Ability to work effectively in a small, developing, and entrepreneurial organisation; high level of flexibility and adaptability required.
  • Strong relationship building skills, especially across a dispersed team.
