Job Description

Start the Best Work of Your Career at Boom

At Boom, we’re building the world’s fastest airliner and rewriting what’s possible. That kind of ambition demands a workplace that’s as high-performing and precise as the machines we’re designing. Our Facilities team is the backbone of that environment—keeping every system running, every space optimized, and every challenge met with speed and care.

We’re looking for a Facilities Specialist who thrives in fast-paced, hands-on environments and takes pride in building the foundation that keeps innovation moving. From keeping CNC machinery in top condition to making sure our build and test spaces run smoothly, you’ll be a mission-critical force behind the scenes. This role is made for someone who sweats the details, solves problems before they surface, and brings a proactive, service-driven mindset to everything they touch.

Role Overview

As a Facilities Specialist, you’ll work side-by-side with world-class engineers, machinists, and technicians to ensure our HQ and development environments operate flawlessly. You’ll be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing systems that support high-stakes aircraft development—including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and production-critical equipment.

You’ll contribute to a facility where aerospace innovation thrives—and where every fix, upgrade, or preventive task moves us one step closer to supersonic flight.

In this role, you will:

  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues with building systems and precision manufacturing equipment.
  • Lead preventive and predictive maintenance programs to eliminate downtime before it happens.
  • Own setup, calibration, and compliance for production equipment supporting aircraft development.
  • Partner with Operations and Engineering teams to prioritize, respond to, and communicate facility needs in real time.
  • Ensure building systems and workspaces reflect Boom’s standards of excellence—clean, functional, and flight-ready.
  • Take on cross-functional tasks and one-off special projects that support our facility’s evolution.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Brings deep technical experience in building systems: electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and CNC/GSE equipment.
  • Can read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints with confidence.
  • Stays calm under pressure and thrives in a high-speed, hands-on environment.
  • Has a reputation for being dependable, organized, and able to juggle multiple priorities without missing a beat.
  • Embraces a “no task too small” mindset and is willing to jump in wherever needed.
  • Willing to support alternate shifts on an as-needed basis during critical operations or special projects.

What Will Set You Apart

  • Experience with spindle replacement, ball screw repair, hydraulic systems, laser alignment, and precision machine maintenance.
  • Hands-on use of digital tools like Google Workspace or Microsoft Office, and maintenance management platforms for work orders and part tracking.
  • Enthusiasm for Boom’s mission—and a desire to be part of the team that brings supersonic travel back to the world.

Compensation

The Base Salary Range for this position is $78,000 - $99,000 per year. Actual salaries will vary based on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Boom’s total rewards package for employees. Other rewards may include long term incentives/equity, a flexible PTO policy, and many other progressive benefits.

There is no set deadline to apply for this job opportunity. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the search is no longer active.

ITAR Requirement

To conform to U.S. Government aerospace technology export regulations (ITAR and EAR), applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. Learn more about ITAR here.
