Investor Relations (Manager, Director or VP-level) - On-site, 5-days-a-week

THIS POSITION REQUIRES 5-10 YEARS OF INVESTOR RELATIONS EXPERIENCE

Blade is looking for a seasoned Investor Relations hire, reporting to our CFO, to engage in managing communications between the Company’s corporate management and its investors, shareholders, analysts and Board members. This role will articulate Blade’s mission, strategies, financial and operational results, as well as communicate feedback and perceptions to Blade executive team, as appropriate. This role will also manage the executive support and assist in the planning and execution of investor relations tasks that may include financial modeling and analysis; company-sponsored analyst/investor meetings; analyst/investor site visits, conference calls, investor conferences, as well as assisting in the development of conference presentations and quarterly Board materials.

The Role

  • Become an expert on Blade’s financial and operating results, as well as on its products and services.
  • Drive and own the creation of quarterly Board materials and communications, project managing across the organization to complete materials in a proactive manner.
  • Build deep, cross-functional relationships across the Company to achieve this goal
  • Manage all logistical aspects of Board meetings
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly earnings materials, conference call scripts, Q&A, and other communications to the external financial community.
  • Contribute to the planning and management of both virtual and in-person investor conferences.
  • Monitor and internally report on industry trends, peer news and financial results by continuously tracking sell-side research, financial news, transcripts, and press releases. Collect and analyze models from the sell-side.
  • Identify and communicate strategic and tactical ideas for the continuous improvement of the IR program; and document the requisite processes for recurring events, such as Board meetings.
  • Act as the point of contact with external counterparts in the investment community - potentially fielding calls and Q&A on your own.
  • Own preparations for conferences, fireside chats and all (potential or current) Investor calls.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Corporate Communications, Economics, or related fields.
  • 4+ years of related experience in investor relations, (buy- or sell-side) equity research, or capital markets experience IS A MUST
  • Prefer 2-3 years Investor Relations at a public company
  • Prefer prior experience working in a dynamic, high growth organization
  • Familiarity and comfort level with financial statements and reports (income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, 10-K’s, 10-Q’s, and proxy statements)
  • High proficiency with the MS Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint

  • Self-starter with ability to take on ownership of initiatives with limited oversight
  • Strong interpersonal skills that are used to develop trusted relationships within and outside the Company
  • Excellent organization and time management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities, breaking large projects into manageable pieces
  • Exceptionally strong written and verbal communications skills (including speaking publicly with confidence)
  • Exceptional self-awareness and conflict negotiation skills

Compensation will be commensurate with experience. As we anticipate a hire between the manager and VP-level, we anticipate a salary between 100K-200K with a potential for a bonus (comprised of cash and/or equity).
