Battolyser Systems is looking to recruit a Senior Production Design Engineer

In your role as Senior Production Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the optimization and realization of our product design. You use your experience with various mass production techniques to give direction to the optimization of the designs using various techniques like design for manufacturing and assembly. You understand that product cost is a combination of factors like production cost, quality and reliability of product, equipment, and process. While doing all that you keep an eye on the overall integral design of our products.

Other main responsibilities are:

• Optimize the design of our products and components by applying the difference “Design For …” methods (DF-X) and implement these changes in the design.
• (Re-)Validate the design by running interface studies and optimize these.
• Support, guide and stimulate the junior staff.
• Selecting the best production techniques for mass manufacturing, specifying the required production equipment and develop bespoke manufacturing tools with suppliers where required.
• Support value engineering projects.
• Work out strategies to have scalable and sustainable solutions.
• Start and support continuous Improvement Projects.
• Support the initial quotation process.
• Contributing to setting up process flows, P-FMEAs, control plans and work instructions.
• Prepare verification and validation phase and support during this phase.
• Continuously keep an eye on potential improvements in the most general sense.

• Identify lacunes in knowledge within the department and suggest improvement actions.
