ABOUT AVANTUS
Avantus is shaping the future by making reliable, low-cost clean energy a global reality. Our legacy of leadership in next generation solar energy includes developing one of the nation’s largest solar clusters and one of the first projects to beat fossil fuel prices back in 2016. Today, we are expanding the boundaries of existing technologies to build one of the largest portfolios of smart power plants with integrated storage, capable of providing millions of people with affordable, zero-emission energy – day and night. Through our relentless pursuit of better, we are decarbonizing our planet at the gigaton level, and bringing the advantages of clean energy to all of us.
ABOUT THE POSITION
Through our paid 8-week internship program (with possibility for extension), students will have the opportunity to be exposed to various aspects of the project development cycle by working within each of our functional groups. Interns of our program will be provided guidance and mentorship from members of our exceptional staff to help ensure success during the duration of the internship. We are seeking students who bring a sense of curiosity, exhibit leadership abilities based on their current involvements on campus and have a strong interest in the renewable energy field.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- All interns will spend the first week of the program receiving an introduction to Avantus and each part of the organization along with the basics of solar development
- Interns will be partnered with a team member from one of our functional groups (Development, Engineering or Finance) who will act as a mentor and be tasked to complete a project
- After completion of projects and rotations, interns will provide a culminating presentation to be virtually presented summarizing their experience
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Currently in pursuit of an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Environmental Science, Finance, HR etc.
- Strong Excel capabilities
- Strong research capabilities
- Strong interest in renewable energy sector
- Enthusiasm to learn
- Ability to maintain strong communication abilities given fully remote working environment
- Must be able to commit to 3 days per week for duration of program
- Interns must maintain committed to the completion of internship in order to receive academic credit
