You are passionate about building great products and highly organized, with a strong dedication to details and follow-through enabling you to work effectively on a distributed remote team. You can execute product development steps independently, manage projects, maintain project schedules, and communicate progress toward objectives in a fast-paced development environment.

What You’ll Do:

• Responsible for electronic designs of existing and future AssetWatch products
• Work on your own, and in conjunction with internal and external partners to develop electronic products, custom PCBAs, firmware, test fixtures, processes, and refinements to existing products.
• Ensure sound manufacturing methods, system performance, regulatory compliance and documentation is satisfied on all products.
• Responsible for component DFM/A and BOM detailing, drawings, instructions, and specifying OTS parts in coordination with the Supply Chain team.
• Develop custom PCBs in Altium, perform circuit analysis/simulation, develop production ready firmware, build, test/validate prototypes, and help guide new products to production

Who You Are:

• 5+ years strong electrical engineering fundamentals including analog, digital, and RF designs
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate with multiple functional teams across a variety of fields
• Ability to analyze solutions and make system design trade-offs
• Familiarity with the challenges of taking a product from early architecture through to production
• Understanding of signal/power integrity and low voltage power regulation and delivery
• Able to thrive on new challenges in a fast-paced agile environment
• Able to balance between the perfect solution and timely execution
• Exceptional attention to detail and organization skills
• Strong experience developing consumer or industrial products
• Experience in the following areas:
• Designing products to industry standards (FCC, UL, CE, MIC, IEC)
• Designing custom circuits and firmware for low power electronics
• Experience with C/C++, Python, and Spice
• Use of lab equipment including oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, benchtop power supplies/profilers, and soldering equipment
• Testing and debugging hardware and firmware
• Understanding of primary and secondary power sources
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing and production methods including PCB fabrication, assembly, ICT, and end of line testing
• Knowledge of manufacturing engineering from drawings and revision control to DFM/DFA
• Hands-on experience building, breaking and fixing real products
• Have shipped a real-world hardware product at scale
• Experience working with domestic/overseas manufacturing partners
• Experience designed for hazardous locations (ATEX, HAZLOC, or similar)
• Expertise in designing for industrial and safety regulated environments
• Experience building Internet of Things (IoT) devices
• Experience working with a startup culture is preferred
