Job Description

About Assembly OSM

Assembly OSM is a fast-growing, Fifth Wall-backed company on a mission to make urban development more scalable and sustainable. We are a NYC-based modular design builder with decades of experience in real estate development, public-private partnerships, offsite construction, and manufacturing. We are hard at work developing our first two buildings in New York City, and growing the team to allow us to really take Assembly to scale.

Our team has developed billions of dollars of urban real estate including the tallest high-rise modular tower in North America (461 Dean Street), and has led major manufacturing operations at companies like Tesla and General Motors.

The Assembly approach is quite different than the modular solutions that have been deployed in the past. The process is more similar to aerospace manufacturing than construction -- leveraging high fidelity digital twin models and distributed manufacturing to make our business more scalable and resilient.

If our mission speaks to you, we encourage you to apply!

Your Role:

As the BIM Manager, you will spearhead the development and implementation of our BIM/CAD process, ensuring excellence in project execution. Your role is pivotal in driving our mission to reshape urban high-rise development through the innovative design and assembly of modular prefab buildings.

You will:

  • Provide technical leadership and training, advocating for a model-based project delivery process across the organization
  • Strategize and manage BIM/CAD operations within Assembly, integrating new technologies and processes for enhanced efficiency
  • Assure the accuracy and completeness of BIM/CAD models consistent with project lifecycles and company standards
  • Work collaboratively with various teams to ensure seamless coordination and optimized workflows, offer strategic BIM/CAD expertise during project meetings to guide decision-making processes
  • Monitor BIM/CAD system performance, identifying and implementing areas for improvement

You are:

  • Highly skilled in Revit, BIM 360, and associated BIM/CAD software, with a solid grasp of BIM/CAD principles.
  • Knowledgeable in building systems, construction methods, and project management.
  • Adept at problem-solving, technical issue resolution, and an enthusiast for learning and adopting new software applications.
  • Passionate about sustainable development and keen on driving innovation in the construction industry.

You have:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Architecture/Engineering/Construction (AEC), mechanical engineering, manufacturing or related fields. All candidates with applicable experience are encouraged to apply
  • 5-7+ years experience managing BIM processes, with demonstrable experience on real-world built projects or physical products
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Revit and related coordination tools, and an interest in developing skills in manufacturing tools like CATIA, ERP, MES, etc.
  • A track record of technical troubleshooting and a proactive approach to technical problem-solving.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Salary Range: $90,000 - $125,000
