Job Description

Energy Communications & Marketing Leader, Boulder, CO - This position is onsite in Boulder.

Your Impact at Ascend Analytics

As an Energy Communications & Marketing Leader, you will: (1) define and drive our brand; (2) promote and support our software and consulting products, and (3) enhance awareness of Ascend Analytics and the on-going global energy transition. As the leader of both communications and marketing within the organization, you’ll create written content, determine external messaging, you'll manage key projects related to go-to-market, collateral, technical writing, visualizations, webinars, conferences, and email campaigns. Job Responsibilities

  • Lead external communications efforts and initiatives.
  • Write articles, briefs, and press releases.
  • Lead marketing projects to enhance Ascend's brand and overall marketing activities.
  • Work cross functionally with Sales as a key contributor of go-to-market and product marketing.
  • Develop and deploy marketing materials, initiatives, and events to promote software sales in the US.
  • Manage and run recurring webinar and conference engagements, email marketing campaigns, and customer outreach.
  • Master marketing technology and content improvement.
  • Assist in assimilating complex information into readily understood reports and presentations.
  • Work with vendors, manage procurement, and optimize internal project workflows.
  • Provide ongoing support for leadership, teams, and special projects and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in liberal arts, communications, marketing, business administration, physical, environmental science, or similar.
  • 5+ years of experience in communications and marketing with a strong record of success, preferably in the energy sector.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments, take initiative, and problem-solve with minimal supervision.
  • Working knowledge of marketing and sales software tools such as Salesforce and HubSpot or alternatives.
  • Ability to integrate marketing and sales software into business processes in order to capture lead and advance lead through the sales pipeline, converting them to revenue.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in communications and marketing with a strong record of success, preferably in the energy sector.
  • Energy or climate-science related Masters degree or MBA
  • Direct experience in the energy industry, alternative energy, environmental, wholesale energy markets or with a software-focused enterprise.
  • Demonstrated experience driving process improvement activities independently.
  • Experience supporting and driving marketing activities at a fast-growing company.
  • Strong interest in working on many facets of marketing.
  • Ability to work in Boulder office three days per week minimum.

Compensation: $130,000 - $200,000 in total compensation

Negotiable based on qualifications and experience. Ascend highly values our employees and often pays above industry average.
