Job Description

AEV is looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our growing team. The candidate will report to the Senior Operations Manager. You will work on the design, software development and releases of our world-class electric mobility control and interface systems.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

  • Being an experienced senior member in the Functional Development team developing safety-critical and mobility-focused functions
  • Design new algorithms and develop adaptions to existing algorithms in Matlab Simulink environment for vehicle motion control, user interfaces, actuator and energy management with the software development team
  • Manage implementation of integration tests, debugging and diagnostics and analyse resulting data
  • Creating high fidelity plant models
  • Define functional test cases
  • Participate in design and code reviews within our software development lifecycle
  • Generate and analyse requirements and specifications from stakeholders
  • Collaborate with other software engineers, electrical, mechanical, systems, and product teams to resolve issues

Requirements

  • An Engineering or Computer Science degree, or equivalent experience from automotive field
  • Strong understanding of vehicle dynamics or control theory or automovitve software development in general
  • Proven experience in functional development
  • Proven experience in building and releasing production ECU or controller software packages in relevant engineering projects
  • Proficiency in model-based development in Simulink
  • Experience with the v-model automotive software development lifecycle
  • Experience with software functional safety implementations and optionally, ISO26262 certifications
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced and growing global team environment
  • Ability to work independently with a strong team ethos
  • Capable of mentoring junior engineers in the software engineering domain
  • A passionate interest in electric transport and an interest in developing new generations of electric vehicles
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in software development in industry
  • Proficient in Hungarian and English

Other useful experience

  • Understanding of the standards of functional safety ISO26262, IEC61508 and/or ASIL
  • Technical experience related to electronic systems at a component, sub-system and system level
  • An ability to analyse test results, highlight abnormalities and present outcomes to an audience with a range of technical expertise
  • Cross functional knowledge across the disciplines of electronics, mechatronics, and software
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
