Position Summary

As Director of Federal Affairs, you will lead the development and execution of federal affairs strategies that advance Antora’s commercial goals and accelerate industrial decarbonization across the United States. You will report to the Vice President of Communications and Public Policy and work closely with Antora’s commercial and project development teams. This is a leadership role that will position you to: drive a long-term strategic vision that unlocks Antora’s commercial and decarbonization goals; build relationships with a broad coalition of leaders and organizations; and strengthen Antora’s position as a clean energy thought leader. You must excel in a fast-paced and matrixed environment involving travel, as necessary. Roles & Responsibilities

• In collaboration with Antora’s policy, project development, and other teams, define and execute federal affairs strategies to accelerate the adoption of Antora’s thermal batteries and industrial decarbonization
• Continuously monitor federal policy and regulatory developments and trends, including grants and incentives, and identify and execute relevant strategies for Antora
• Advocate for and advance Antora’s priorities to Congress and federal agencies, including building strong relationships on Capitol Hill, at federal agencies, trade groups, NGOs, and other partners
• Lead engagement and advocacy with trade groups, NGOs, think tanks, peer companies, and other stakeholders to drive the adoption of thermal batteries and industrial decarbonization solutions
• Represent Antora at external forums, conferences, hearings, and on external working groups to advance Antora’s positions
• In collaboration with the communications team, craft thought leadership content under your own byline and the byline of Antora’s leadership
• Lead the development of research, modeling, and policy analysis to support Antora’s policy positions externally
• In collaboration with the VP of Communications and Public Policy, lead a team of external government affairs advisors
• Monitor global policy developments and assess their impact on Antora’s business

Key Qualifications

• Demonstrated track record securing notable policy changes related to clean energy
• Deep experience in clean energy sector, public policy administration, and/or advocacy
• Deeply knowledgeable and passionate about energy system decarbonization
• Extensive knowledge of, experience with, and relationships on Capitol Hill and in federal agencies, including understanding organizational structures, processes, and policy objectives
• Experience managing a team and operating amid multiple competing priorities
• Strong organizational skills, including the capacity to supervise and drive multiple cross-functional workstreams simultaneously
• Flexibility and adaptability to adjust quickly to changes in a fast-evolving sector
• Expert communicator capable of engaging a range of audiences that span technical analysts and senior policymakers and shaping persuasive and analytically rigorous documents for different audiences
• An experienced mentor and team builder, and a generous team player who collaborates well and is excited to act as a senior individual contributor, with the potential to build out a best-in-class team
• 7+ years of experience in public policy and/or advocacy
• Advanced degree in law, business, policy, or public administration and bachelor’s degree in materials science or a related STEM field preferred but not required
• Based in DC area with the ability to travel, as needed
