Job Description
Society stands at a tipping point, and we all will be affected. There is a need for change, and there is a strong demand for sustainable products that are not based on fossil fuels. By replacing existing unsustainable materials, the AMSilk team is able to make a true change in many industries. Our vision is to make smart performing biotech materials part of everyday life.
Of course, this won't happen overnight. It needs talented people like you. We are looking for an intern who has advanced knowledge in the field of biotechnological processes and who is interested in working closely with our team to move forward with the development of our innovative bioprocesses. You will support the AMSilk Upstream development team by planning, carrying out and evaluating your own cultivation experiments.
- Plan, conduct and evaluate bacterial fermentation
- Participate in process monitoring and documentation
- Prepare samples for analytics
- Present your work to other team members
- Support the team with general laboratory operations
- Clean lab equipment (e. g. fermentors)
- Prepare buffer solutions/ chemicals
- Bachelor of Science in a relevant field or related (Biotechnology, Biology, Biochemistry, Bioprocess Engineering, Bioengineering etc.)
- Experience in working in a laboratory environment, ideally in a biotech context
- First experience with cell cultivation techniques and working with fermenters is advantageous
- Good Excel skills
- High ability to work in a team
- Independent way of working
- Enjoy teamwork and collaboration
- Have a good sense of humor
- Are bold, creative and think outside the box
- Live a solutions-driven approach and have a pragmatic working style
- Are willing to learn something new every day
