As Ample’s Senior Compliance & Certification Engineer, you will develop and drive regulatory compliance for Ample products helping define, prioritize and obtain the applicable requirements and certifications. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open & collaborative peer environment.

What you’ll bring:

• 8+ years of experience as a Compliance / Ceritication Engineer for complex products with significant hardware, electrical and software components
• Proven track record defining a compliance strategy and obtaining product certifications for new products that don’t necessarily fit into an existing standard.
• Experience with internal standards and certifications is required.
• Experience in at least one of the following areas: automotive standards, battery standards (automotive and non-automotive) battery storage standards and machinery standards.
• Direct ( preferred ) or indirect work experience with functional safety projects and certifications ( such as ISO26262, UL1998/991, ISO13849)
• Team player with strong communications skills. Ability to build a case to help prioritize compliance efforts among multiple demanding priorities.

What you’ll do:

• Lead, strategize and execute certification process for Ample products.
• Work directly with engineering teams and partners to define applicable standards, define gap analysis, ideate solutions, prioritize key projects, track progress, prepare documentation and execute required tests.
• Become a strong advocate for compliance maturity and processes within the organization.
• Partner with permitting team and/or vehicle homologation teams to define compliance strategy and supporting documentation.
• Synthesize, present and discuss key initiatives, priorities, and trade-offs within the leadership team.
