Job Description

Please note this is an ONSITE role based in San Francisco, CA. Students must be available for relocation for the duration of the internship (Jan 2024 - May/June).

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern on the Ample Vehicle Integration team, you’ll be working with a creative team of people across mechanical, electrical and software domains to ensure our systems are safe and reliable. You have the ability to take an abstract problem and break it down into an implementable system - starting with a scrappy approach and progressively building it up into a sophisticated solution.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop testing equipment to validate IP rating
  • Work on validation of Ample’s key components such as structures, mechanism and seals

What you’ll bring:

  • Pursuing a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering with strong mechanical engineering fundamentals (Minimum GPA: 3.5)
  • Solid understanding of the following areas:
  • Strength of Materials
  • Material Science
  • Machine Design
  • Demonstrated ability to do mechanical design
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling with Solidworks

Bonus Skills

  • Good understanding of GD&T
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment
