Job Description

About Agreena

Agreena is an exciting, dynamic, and purpose-oriented organisation united in a mission to mobilise farmers and corporations to unlock the value of nature and help restore the planet. While we’re rooted in agriculture, finance, and technology, our team of experts range from soil carbon scientists and software developers to market strategists and regulatory affairs experts. Over 200 employees across more than 40 nationalities are gathered under the common Agreena flag – either working from our headquarters in Copenhagen, offices in London, or remotely across Europe.

Agreena provides solutions that drive both environmental and financial sustainability. Our company offers a supportive and positive work environment with opportunities for learning, leading, and growth no matter where you are in your professional journey. We believe in giving our employees a lot of responsibility, and we encourage new thinking, innovation, and fun.

And this is where you come in:

We are looking to expand outside Europe. As one of the largest agricultural export markets in the world - and a strong focus on sustainable financing - Brazil is of natural interest. We are therefore looking for an experienced and business-oriented Market Lead based in Brazil.

We are looking for an entrepreneurial candidate with minimum 10 years of experience in a commercial and/or strategically oriented role in the agriculture and/or financial industry that can lead the process of exploring, validating and expanding Agreena in Brazil. This includes defining/refining our product & service offerings for farmers and corporations, and developing and executing our go-to-market strategy through engagement with the right stakeholders.

As a person, you are energetic and take initiative to get things done. You are a structured “self-starter”, and you can manage priorities and maintain timelines for multiple activities. You work well independently and are comfortable with remote work and travel

The ideal candidate will have the knowhow of the local market, with a deep understanding and a network within the locally based agricultural holdings, industry associations and other key players within the space.

Please note you must be authorised to work in Brazil for this position, and speak fluent English and Portuguese.

Your responsibilities:

As the market lead you will work closely with the headquarters to understand how we refine our existing service offering to fit the needs of the Brazilian market - and define potential new solutions to fill market gaps, building on our existing assets and capabilities. You will be responsible for defining the go-to-market strategy, and prepare the market for a full launch, with support from the headquarters.

To do so, you will run everything from very practical tasks, while also leading complex strategic initiatives. You will be part of all aspects of business development, from engaging with farmers on their fields to understand their needs and operations and how Agreena can maximise value for the farmer, to developing and presenting recommendations on which companies to partner with to accelerate our entry into Brazil, to execution, leading discussions and negotiations with other farmer-centric associations, financial institutions and AgTechs.

You will be the face and the voice of Agreena in Brazil, as well as having the responsibility for leading both commercial communications towards the market and key industry stakeholders, including farmers. It’s key that you are interested in taking on a multi faceted role, developing and executing the local product and go-to-market strategy together with strong support from headquarters.

One of your first tasks will be to engage with farmers to pilot and adapt/develop new products for the Brazil market, and map and engage with important industry players within the financial sector and agriculture industry that are key to a successful expansion.
