Job Description
About Again
Again makes carbon negative chemicals for a cleaner future. We are the first carbon negative chemical manufacturer that can scale to meet global demand. The best thing about it: we use carbon dioxide as a feedstock. We have raised over $100m to date from top venture capital investors as well as in grant funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme. We are a growing team of experienced scientists, engineers and entrepreneurs from the DTU, Stanford, MIT (and more) who are passionate about revolutionizing the chemical industry. Join us in the fight against climate change.
What you’ll do
We’re looking for a Senior Fermentation Scientist to lead scale-up efforts for our innovative bioprocesses. In this role, you’ll be responsible for overseeing the scale-up of fermentation processes from lab to commercial scale, and you will be instrumental in leading our plant start-up process later this year together with our Site Lead and Engineering Project Delivery Lead. You’ll contribute your expertise to process development, technology transfer, and the operational readiness of our plant, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition to large-scale production. This is a hands-on role that requires technical leadership in scale-up processes and plant start-up.
Responsibilities
- Lead the scale-up of fermentation processes from our lab to our first commercial scale manufacturing plant.
- Ensure smooth technology transfer translating laboratory procedures into full-scale Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for plant operations.
- Lead the commissioning of our plant in Q4 2025 together with our engineering team, ensuring all fermentation processes are codified and optimized, ready for full-scale industrial operations.
- Design and conduct experiments, analyze data, and present findings to drive process understanding and optimization.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure seamless scale-up and plant commissioning.
