Job Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Field Technician to join our dedicated team at Advancing Eco Agriculture. The Field Technician will play a crucial role in supporting our mission by conducting field assessments, collecting data, and assisting with the implementation of regenerative farming practices. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a background in agriculture, and a passion for advancing regenerative approaches to farming. It is vital that the person who fills this role aligns with our approach, is mission-driven, and possesses the capacity to quickly familiarize themselves with AEA products and services. Responsibilities:

  • Field Assessments:
  • Conduct on-site visits to farms to perform sap sampling and assess crop health, crop-specific challenges, and overall farm management practices.
  • Collect data related to plant sap analysis, nutrient levels, crop performance, and insect and disease pressure, using specialized technology and tools.
  • Equipment Operation:
  • Safely operate and maintain field equipment and tools used for data collection.
  • Ensure the proper functioning and calibration of equipment before and after field activities.
  • Data Collection and Reporting:
  • Record and organize field data accurately and efficiently.
  • Collaborate to assist in the preparation of reports summarizing field assessments and data collection findings.
  • Support for Agronomic Plans and Protocols:
  • Assist Agronomists in implementing agronomic plans by providing field-level support and feedback.
  • Collaborate with growers to ensure safe handling and application of AEA and partner products.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
  • Clearly communicate in-field observations with other regional farm services team members; collaborate to troubleshoot issues.
  • Facilitate effective account management with notes, photos, and in-field observation.
  • Participate occasionally in outreach events and workshops to promote AEA's products and services.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in agriculture or related field is a plus.
  • Have a passion for expanding knowledge of regenerative agriculture systems.
  • 2+ years of experience in a field-related role, preferably in agriculture or environmental sciences.
  • Familiarity with agricultural equipment and tools used for data collection.
  • Basic understanding of soil health, nutrient management, and sustainable farming practices.
  • Strong organizational and data management skills.
  • Self-motivated, enjoy and thrive working independently and in team settings.
