As a Software Engineer for the Employee Platform (m/f/d), you will report to the Head of Workplace IT. Your mission is to empower 1KOMMA5° employees by delivering custom code, workflows, and tools that enhance collaboration, boost productivity, and build a strong foundation for the company's competitive advantage and long-term success.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Solution Development: Create, implement, evaluate, deploy, sustain, and enhance third-party solutions using code to address business problems. This includes developing bespoke workflows to enable employee self-service for common tasks.
• Support & Training: Educate and train Tech support staff to empower them in resolving common issues and troubleshoot code problems as they arise.
• Process Optimisation: Drive automation efforts to optimise the employee on and off-boarding experience, utilising tooling knowledge. This also includes creating bespoke user management experiences via SCIM and APIs.
• Technical Alignment & Benchmarking: Collaborate with the Workplace IT product team to align on goals, benchmark technical capabilities, and lead times.
• Customer Collaboration: Work directly with employees to develop comprehensive plans and implement third-party solutions (you won’t always hide behind Product Management).
• Stakeholder Coordination: Align cross-functionally with key stakeholders across the Tech organization, including security engineers, to identify and capitalize on areas of overlap.
• Scalability & Adaptability: Facilitate the alignment of widespread changes as 1KOMMA5° expands, adapts, and evolves.
• Problem Solving: Engage in creative problem solving, questioning existing processes and seeking innovative solutions.

• Hands-on Implementation: Be directly involved in standard tooling configurations and implementations.

  Technologies you will work with include:

• Google Cloud Platform (CloudRun, CloudSQL, Pub/Sub, etc.)
• Google Workspace
• Python, JavaScript/TypeScript
• Terraform / Terramate

• 6+ years of proven professional experience in Software Engineering or a related field.
• Proven track record of implementing, and maintaining cloud IT systems.
• Expert-level proficiency in programming and scripting, particularly with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript & APIs (REST).
• Deep expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC), utilizing tools like Terraform to automate and manage cloud environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including core services such as Cloud Ru, and CloudSQL.
• Proficiency in Google Workspace automation, leveraging the Admin SDK and Google Apps Script to streamline administrative tasks
• Experience with Employee Lifecycle Management and automation is a plus.
• Ability to demonstrate design thinking methodology.
• Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, agile environment and adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a security focus.
• Relevant IT Bachelors or Masters degree. Certifications related to MTD, MAM are a plus!
• Comfortable in a remote first organisation, with willingness to travel to Hamburg, Berlin and Munich on occasion.
• English written and verbal communication (C1). Our team is international, but German (B2) is a huge plus!
