Zoox’s Machine Learning Platform team operates in the intersection of build engineering, internal software development, and applied ML research. We maintain the base layer of ML tools and deep learning frameworks used by the research teams, add additional features, tooling, automation, and applications, and improve ML models in collaboration with the applied research teams. We advocate for strong software engineering fundamentals with our customer teams. We catalogue the features, quirks, limitations, and bugs present in the systems we maintain so that we can best advise our customer teams when they encounter them.

ML Platform is looking for focused, proactive senior-to-staff software engineers. By joining our team, you will design and deliver a performant, comprehensive platform for ML research and development to our internal customers. You will improve the production deployment mechanisms used for on- and off-vehicle inference. You will work with teams from IT, build and release, and cluster management on projects to advance our mission. You will provide technical leadership to the team and mentor new hires.
