Job Description
As an analysis and modeling engineer in Tesla’s Power Electronics team, you will evaluate the performance and capability of critical electrical and electromechanical components and their systems. You will develop thermo-electric models using first principles, simulations, and testing. You will validate these models against actual hardware and use the models to guide the design and architecture of converter systems. You will provide input to firmware, reliability, manufacturing test, and architecture modeling teams. You will be a key point of contact between electrical, mechanical, and firmware engineers working to optimize systems and maximize their output.
Achieving our ambitious goals requires you to be passionate, collaborative, detail-oriented, and tenacious in the application of your strong thermal and electrical analysis skills to solve tough technical problems. A ‘first-principles’ approach to problem solving and curiosity to learn and develop are must-haves.
You will be joining an elite team of driven engineers responsible for the design of cutting edge, world-class power converters used across the entirety of Tesla, from Vehicle and Energy Storage to Solar and Manufacturing. We are hardcore and the work is fast-paced and challenging – Tesla’s mission and vision must excite you.
