Engineering Analyst, Reactor

The Engineering Analyst, Reactor is a dedicated position focused on analyzing the seismic and mechanical performance of various reactor core components, reactor structures, reactor vessels, and nuclear island components. The Engineering Analyst, Reactor will report to the Engineering Analysis-Mechanical Manager and will join the Engineering Analysis Discipline and will work as part of a high functioning team of engineers and scientists focused on developing the design of next generation advanced nuclear reactors.

Responsibilities

· Perform seismic and mechanical analyses of reactor structures, systems, and nuclear island components to verify that their performance remains within imposed limits as defined by applicable codes and standards.

· Work with interdisciplinary team of engineers to establish and optimize nuclear components design consistent with required functional and quality requirements.

· Establish and maintain documents of analysis results and design solutions.

Key Qualifications and Skills

· BS, M.S., or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from accredited university. Nuclear, Aerospace and Civil Engineering degrees are also considered.

· Minimum of 3+ years of related experience with a B.S. degree, or 2+ years with an M.S. degree, or Ph.D. degree with relevant knowledge and skill.

· Good understanding of stress analysis and behavior of materials.

· Familiar with finite element analysis tool such as ANSYS and scripting software such as Python for pre and post processing is desirable.

· Familiar with materials failure mechanisms and application of design standards and codes.

· Strong communication skills are desired.

Salary Range: $91,745 - $137,617

*Typically, our employee salaries are within .90 – 1.0 of the mid-point of the posted salary band. Any salary offered within the posted salary band is based on market data and commensurate with the selected individual’s qualifications and experience. This range is specific to Washington State.
