Are you looking to make a difference in the world while producing a new product? Tender is revolutionizing the food industry by solving a major global challenge: how to make meat production ethical and sustainable. Going beyond the existing plant-based burgers, we are developing alternative meat whole-cuts – think steaks and chicken breasts – using innovative technologies.

We are seeking a Product Operations Associate to join our team to help with lab research and development of a new class of alternative meat products (plant-based and cultured meat). Working within our Product team, you will collaborate closely with our Research and Development and Food Innovation teams to support scale-up and production of an entirely new category of alternative meat. You will play a critical role in supporting our manufacturing and scale-up operations and will have the opportunity to take more responsibilities as the company grows.

About You

• You have 4+ years’ experience in the food industry, or commercial kitchens OR you have an associate degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Materials Science, or Environmental Engineering.
• You love to get your hands dirty (literally) and operate complicated equipment well.
• You have strong organizational skills and demonstrated experience prioritizing multiple deliverables.
• You are meticulous about regulations, exhibit strong attention to detail, and can spot what others have missed.
• You are able to stand for long prolonged periods of the day and can lift 30-50 lbs
• You are a good communicator and self-started and love tackling new challenges.
• You are excited about joining an early-stage food technology startup, where you will have a dynamic role and will work autonomously on high-impact projects.
• You have a passion to change the world for the better. You are not just looking to cash a paycheck – what you do for work matters to you deeply.

Responsibilities

• You will be part of the Operations team to create alternative meat products using breakthrough technologies.
• You will participate in day-to-day production operations.
• You will provide design feedback on our production and scale-up processes to support the growth of our business.
• You will manage scheduling, inventory of ingredients, and prepare customer orders following Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practice Guidelines.
• You will participate in scale up trials with the Materials and Food Innovation teams.
• You will collaborate with our team members to improve our processes and develop some truly unique and delicious products.
